The-Sacrifice-Box-COVER

Ah, 80s nostalgia. Even if you weren’t born in the 80s, chances are you already miss the tape recorders, walkie talkies, and perfect soundtrack of Stranger ThingsThe Sacrifice Box will supply you with all of this nostalgia, plus that dose of OH HELL NO JUST RUN that Stranger Things so loves to grant us.

2. Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall

Rules-for-Vanishing

Imagine if an entire book were written about the Upside Down. Great, now that we’ve supplied you with nightmare fuel, let’s talk about Rules for Vanishing. In fact, we’re pretty certain this book was written in the Upside Down to begin with. Imagine if you mixed Stranger Things with The Blair Witch Project and Ocean at the End of the Lane. You may want to invest in a good nightlight because this book will give you a whole new reason to be afraid of the dark.

About the book: Once a year, a road appears in the forest. And at the end of it, the ghost of Lucy Gallows beckons. Lucy’s game isn’t for the faint of heart. If you win, you escape with your life. But if you lose….

But then Becca disappears. When Sara and her skeptical friends meet in the forest to search for Becca, the mysterious road unfurls before them. All they have to do is walk down it. But the path to Lucy is not of this world, and it has its own rules. Every mistake summons new horrors. Vengeful spirits and broken, angry creatures are waiting for them to slip, and no one is guaranteed safe passage. The only certainty is this: the road has a toll and it will be paid.

**WARNING** Do not read this book alone at night. Please do not call Penguin Teen and complain you had nightmares because you didn’t listen to us.

3. When the Sky Fell on Splendor by Emily Henry

SkyFellSplendor

In case the cover didn’t tip you off, this book is packed full of stuff we loved in Stranger Things. The ragtag group of kids on bicycles? Invasion from otherworldly species? Super powers? Sign. Us. UP.

About the book: Almost everyone in the small town of Splendor, Ohio, was affected when the local steel mill exploded. If you weren’t a casualty of the accident yourself, chances are a loved one was.
